DATA ACQUISITION.
TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION.
INSPECTION EXPERTISE.

AquaCoustic Remote Technologies specializes in inspections of underwater structures such as trunk or mainline sewers, hydro dams, reservoirs, ports and bridge abutments using a wide range of technologies to create accurate condition assessments. AquaCoustic principals have over 30 years experience in assessing underwater conditions. Our clients include many major civil engineering firms and municipalities throughout North America.

Underwater surveys of deep piles, bore holes and mines

Major underwater engineering construction projects require survey services at each stage of the project and for many different reasons. A survey might be required to check existing site conditions or prior construction work, or to check quality and conditions during progress, or to ensure as-built work conforms to specifications. Surveys can also be used for many other reasons, such as to ensure that the environmental contamination as a result of construction is contained.

AquaCoustic’s unique sonar survey technology is ideally suited to the inspection of submerged features, whether in water, polymers or other mineral slurries, in deep piles, bore holes and mines, and yields highly detailed, accurate data.

The use of a rotating head sonar using a ‘step and repeat’ process ensures extreme accuracy of all data points, which are not mathematically derived as in other sonar systems. Our AS-IS system, using a rotating beam solar head, provides accurate measurement of cross-sectional area and verticality, from which theoretical volume can be derived.

Deliverables can include tabulated data, three-dimensional models, cross-sections and images in a variety of formats, and real-time display of the results during surveying.

Sonar surveying is both fast and affordable, and is invaluable in ensuring the success of underwater construction projects.
